Craig Inglis has left Sage, the B2B financial tech firm, after just 16 months in role as its executive vice president, global brand and integrated marketing.

Inglis joined the firm last June off the back of a 12 year stint as John Lewis’s marketing boss, a role he left in 2020 before starting a consultancy business and becoming a non-executive chair of the Marketing Society.

He joined John Lewis in 2008 as head of brand communications before becoming marketing director in 2010, and was added to the board as customer director in 2015. Prior to John Lewis, Inglis worked at Virgin Trains for a decade, latterly as sales and marketing director.

Former John Lewis marketer Craig Inglis joins SageAt Sage, Inglis was widely credited alongside the business’s CMO Kath Ceers and wider marketing team for his role in revamping the brand and making the case for investing strongly in marketing.

In a LinkedIn post last year upon joining the B2B firm, Inglis said: “I’ve been totally seduced by [Sage’s] mission to knock down barriers so everyone can thrive and to be the champion of small and medium sized businesses, the lifeblood of economies across the world.”

“Craig Inglis has left his role as executive vice president of brand and integrated campaigns at Sage. We wish him all the best for the future,” confirmed Sage.

It isn’t yet known what Inglis’s next steps are.
